DFI CS100-C246D Intel LGA 1151 Core Mini-ITX SBC with C246 Chipset and Dual LAN

Some embedded jobs cannot afford a flipped bit in memory: a test rig writing results for traceability, a data logger on a production line or a small server holding recipes for a cell. The CS100-C246D is the C246 build in the DFI CS100 series of Mini-ITX SBCs, and it is one of the two CS100 boards that take Intel Xeon E with ECC memory.

The LGA1151 socket takes the six-core Intel Xeon E-2176G at 80 W alongside 8th and 9th Gen Core i7, i5 and i3 processors, the Pentium G5400 and Celeron G4900. ECC DDR4 works with the Xeon, Core i3-8100, Pentium and Celeron; Core i5 and i7 run non-ECC memory. Two DDR4 2400/2666 MHz SO-DIMMs hold up to 32 GB. Intel UHD Graphics 630 drives dual-channel LVDS, VGA and two DP++ outputs, three displays at once.

GbE ports on Intel I219LM and I210AT controllers give Intel AMT with a Core i5 or i7 and a separate port for a machine network. The rear carries two USB 3.1 Gen 2, two Gen 1 and four USB 2.0 ports and an RS-232 DB9 port, with a second RS-232 header and 8-bit DIO inside. Three SATA 3.0 ports, a full-size Mini PCIe socket that also takes mSATA and a PCIe x16 Gen3 slot cover storage and expansion. This build has no TPM.

The CS100-C246D draws power from a 24-pin and 4-pin ATX supply and operates from 0 to 60 °C, with CE, FCC, UKCA, KC and RoHS compliance. CS100-C246DRM is the same C246 board with a discrete TPM 2.0, and CS100-Q370D keeps AMT and the same I/O for Core processors without ECC.
