DFI EC70A-ADP4022TC3-i765UE8 Intel Core i7 12th Gen Embedded Box PC with 2.5GbE, 2x USB-C and -20 to 60 °C

Video walls in control rooms, multi-screen operator desks and busy signage often push both the graphics and the processor. The EC70A-ADP4022TC3-i765UE8 pairs the 10-core Intel Core i7-1265UE with two USB-C ports with DisplayPort alt mode, in the fanless build of the DFI EC70A-ADP series, so the embedded box PC can drive up to four displays.

The Core i7-1265UE has 10 cores and 12 threads with a boost clock of up to 4.7 GHz, set to 15 W for fanless running. Intel Iris Xe Graphics handles the displays and hardware decode for AV1, H.265 and H.264. Memory is 8 GB on-board plus one DDR4-3200 SO-DIMM slot that takes up to 32 GB. Intel AMT is supported on this build for remote management. DFI lists Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024, Windows 10 IoT Enterprise and Linux, with TPM 2.0 and a watchdog timer.

Networking is one 2.5GbE port and two GbE ports. COM1 and COM2 are RS-232/422/485 and COM4 is RS-232, all on DB9, while COM3 is RS-232 or 8-bit DIO by jumper. Two USB 3.2 Type-A ports sit beside two USB-C ports with DisplayPort alt mode, so with HDMI at 4K 30 Hz and DP at 4K 60 Hz up to four displays can run at once. Inside are an M.2 2280 M key slot for a PCIe x4 or SATA SSD, an M.2 3042/3052 B key slot with a SIM slot for an optional 4G or 5G module, and an M.2 2230 E key slot for optional Wi-Fi.

Power is 9 to 36 V DC on a DC jack, which suits 12 V and 24 V cabinet supplies. It runs fanless from -20 °C to 60 °C with a wide-temperature SSD, so there are no moving parts to service. The EC70A-ADP aluminium enclosure fits a wall, a VESA bracket or a DIN rail, and the EC70A-ADP4022TC3-i765UE8 is tested to IEC 60068-2-27 shock and IEC 60068-2-64 vibration, with CE, FCC Class A, UKCA and KC listed. For a hotter enclosure, the EC70A-ADP4022TC3F-i765UE8 adds a fan, and the EC70A-ADP4043-i765UE8 keeps four USB-A ports.
