DFI EC70A-TGU Intel 11th Gen Core and Celeron Fanless Computers with 2x to 4x GbE and Wide Temperature

The question with most small industrial PCs is not which processor, but how many Ethernet and USB ports the job needs. The DFI EC70A-TGU series is a family of fanless computers that answers it with three I/O builds on 11th Gen Intel Core Tiger Lake and Celeron processors, all in the same aluminium enclosure that mounts on a wall, a VESA bracket or a DIN rail and runs from -20 °C to 60 °C. Within each I/O build, the processor is chosen to match the workload, from the dual-core Celeron for signage and gateways to the four-core Core i7 for vision and analytics.

Every EC70A-TGU has 8 GB of on-board memory plus one DDR4 SO-DIMM slot, two HDMI ports at 4K 30 Hz and a VGA port for three displays, and four DB9 COM ports: two RS-232/422/485, one RS-232 and COM3 as RS-232 or 8-bit DIO. An M.2 2280 M key takes a PCIe x4 NVMe SSD, an M.2 3042/3052 B key takes an optional 4G or 5G module, and an M.2 2230 E key takes optional Wi-Fi. TPM 2.0 and a watchdog timer are built in, and we supply it with Windows 11 IoT or Linux with the Intel OpenVINO toolkit ready.

The 4062 builds have two GbE and six USB 3.1 Type-A ports: the EC70A-TGU4062-C5E-8 with the Celeron 6305E, the EC70A-TGU4062-I3E-8 with the Core i3-1115G4E, the EC70A-TGU4062-I5E-8 with the Core i5-1145G7E, the EC70A-TGU4062-I7E-8 with the Core i7-1185G7E and the EC70A-TGU4062-I7R-8 with the industrial series Core i7-1185GRE. The 4043 builds have three GbE and four USB: the EC70A-TGU4043-C5E-8, EC70A-TGU4043-I3E-8, EC70A-TGU4043-I5E-8 and EC70A-TGU4043-I7E-8. The 4024 builds have four GbE and two USB, for firewalls, cell gateways and small camera systems: the EC70A-TGU4024-I5E-8 and EC70A-TGU4024-I7E-8. The model code shows the build: 4062, 4043 or 4024, then the processor.

In practice the EC70A-TGU series suits HMI and signage, network gateways between cells, vision cells with a separate camera network and line data collection. Power is 9 to 36 V DC on a DC jack, and the fanless computers are tested to IEC 60068-2-27 shock and IEC 60068-2-64 vibration, with CE, FCC Class A, UKCA, UL, CCC and RoHS listed by DFI.
