DFI EHL051-TCD-6214RE Intel Elkhart Lake Atom x6214RE Pico-ITX Board with Dual GbE and Extended Temperature

Remote telemetry units, data loggers and simple controllers spend most of their life waiting on serial devices, so power draw and heat matter more than raw compute. The EHL051-TCD-6214RE is the dual-core RE build in the DFI EHL051 series of Pico-ITX boards, at 6 W the lowest-power option for sites that still see -40 °C.

The Intel Atom x6214RE (Elkhart Lake) has two cores at 1.4 GHz and a 6 W TDP, which keeps the fanless heatsink small and the supply budget modest. One DDR4 3200 MHz SO-DIMM takes up to 32 GB with in-band ECC. Intel UHD Graphics still drives HDMI and dual-channel LVDS, two displays at once, for a local maintenance screen or an operator panel.

Two GbE ports on Intel I226 controllers give one link to the site network and one to the devices. Two RS-232/422/485 ports and 8-bit DIO on internal headers take Modbus RTU devices, meters and alarm contacts, and two rear USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports plus two internal USB 2.0 headers cover local storage and keys. The M.2 B-key takes a 4G or 5G module with its SIM slot for backhaul, the M.2 E-key takes Wi-Fi, and a SATA 3.0 port adds a drive.

The EHL051-TCD-6214RE runs from 12 V DC on a 2-pin terminal block and operates from -40 to 85 °C, an extended temperature range, with CE, FCC, UKCA, RoHS and KC compliance, TPM 2.0 and a 1 to 255 second watchdog.
