DFI GH171-V1605B AMD Ryzen Embedded V1605B Mini-ITX Embedded Motherboard with Dual GbE and Quad Display

Operator panels and point-of-sale terminals often sit in shallow enclosures where a 45 W processor is hard to cool, yet the software still benefits from four cores. The GH171-V1605B answers that with a quad-core processor at 15 W, on the same 170 x 170 mm Mini-ITX board as the rest of the GH171 series.

The AMD Ryzen Embedded V1605B runs four cores and eight threads from 2.0 GHz, boosting to 3.6 GHz, with eight Radeon Vega compute units. Two DDR4 3200 SO-DIMM slots take up to 32 GB. Four DP++ outputs drive independent displays at up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz, and hardware decode handles H.265, H.264 and VP9, so video and interface work sit mostly on the GPU. Audio runs through a Realtek ALC887 codec with mic-in, line-in and line-out at the rear, useful for operator prompts and alarms.

For machine connections there are six COM ports (an RS-232/422/485 and an RS-232 DB-9 at the rear, plus four RS-232 headers inside), two GbE ports on Realtek RTL8111HN controllers and three USB 3.0 plus six USB 2.0 ports across rear and internal connectors. The PCIe x16 Gen3 slot runs at x8 signal, the M.2 M-key 2280 socket supports PCIe x4 Gen3 NVMe, and two SATA 3.0 ports take additional drives.

The GH171-V1605B runs from 12 V DC on a 4-pin connector or DC barrel jack between 0 and 60 °C, with an active cooler, TPM 2.0 and CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance. For higher sustained clocks with room to cool 45 W, the GH171-V1756B is the step up; for a lighter dual-core load at 15 W, choose the GH171-V1202B.
