DFI GH171 AMD Ryzen Embedded V1000, R1000 and R2000 Mini-ITX Motherboards with Dual GbE and up to Quad Display

Signage players, kiosk and gaming terminals and multi-screen HMIs often need several independent 4K displays and a card slot from a board that fits a compact enclosure. The DFI GH171 series puts up to four DP++ outputs, dual GbE and a PCIe x16 slot on a 170 x 170 mm Mini-ITX footprint, with the processor on the board and cooled by an active heatsink and fan. These Mini-ITX industrial motherboards cover three AMD Ryzen Embedded families, so one board layout can span entry-level and higher-performance builds.

The V1000 builds run from the dual-core GH171-V1202B and quad-core GH171-V1605B at 15 W to the quad-core GH171-V1756B and GH171-V1807B at 45 W, the V1807B with 11 Radeon Vega compute units for the heaviest graphics load. The R1000 builds, GH171-R1505G and GH171-R1606G, are dual-core 15 W parts that drive three DP++ displays. The R2000 builds, the GH171-R2312B at 25 W, the GH171-R2314B and GH171-R2514B at 35 W and the quad-core GH171-R2544B at 54 W, return to four displays. Every model takes up to 32 GB of DDR4 3200 in two SO-DIMM slots, and the Radeon Vega graphics decode H.265, H.264 and VP9 in hardware at up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz.

Rear I/O carries two GbE ports on Realtek RTL8111HN controllers, two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, an RS-232/422/485 and an RS-232 DB-9 port, the DP++ outputs and audio jacks. Internal headers add four RS-232 ports, four USB 2.0 and a vertical USB 3.0 Type-A connector, which suits a licence dongle kept inside the enclosure. Storage runs to an M.2 M-key 2280 socket and two SATA 3.0 ports. The PCIe x16 Gen3 slot runs at x8 signal on the V1000, R2314, R2514 and R2544 builds and at x4 on the R1000 and R2312 builds, and on the V1000 builds the M.2 socket runs NVMe at PCIe x4 Gen3.

Power is a single 12 V DC input on a 4-pin connector or DC barrel jack. The boards run from 0 to 60 °C in indoor enclosures, with TPM 2.0, a watchdog timer programmable from 1 to 255 seconds, and Windows 10 and Linux support. The GH171 series carries CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance.
