DFI GH171-R1606G AMD Ryzen Embedded R1606G (R1000 Series) Industrial Mini-ITX Motherboard with Dual GbE and Triple Display

HMI software and protocol gateways often lean on single-thread response more than core count, so clock speed matters within a fixed 15 W budget. The GH171-R1606G is the higher-clocked of the two R1000 builds in the GH171 series, on a 170 x 170 mm Mini-ITX board with dual GbE and six COM ports.

The AMD Ryzen Embedded R1606G runs two cores and four threads at 2.6 GHz, with boost to 3.5 GHz, and three Radeon Vega compute units. It drives three independent DP++ displays at up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz and decodes H.265, H.264 and VP9 in hardware. Memory runs to 32 GB of DDR4 3200 across two SO-DIMM slots.

Serial devices connect to an RS-232/422/485 and an RS-232 DB-9 port at the rear and to four RS-232 headers on the board. Networking is two GbE ports on Realtek RTL8111HN controllers, and USB runs to three USB 3.0 and six USB 2.0 ports, including a vertical USB 3.0 Type-A inside. The PCIe x16 Gen3 slot runs at x4 signal on this build, with an M.2 M-key 2280 socket and two SATA 3.0 ports for storage. Audio uses a Realtek ALC887 codec with rear mic-in, line-in and line-out and an internal S/PDIF header for spoken prompts.

The GH171-R1606G takes 12 V DC through a 4-pin connector or DC barrel jack and runs from 0 to 60 °C with an active cooler, TPM 2.0 and CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance. If three displays are not enough, the GH171-R2312B drives four at 25 W; if four cores matter more than clocks, the GH171-V1605B stays at 15 W.
