DFI GH171-R2312B AMD Ryzen Embedded R2312 Mini-ITX Mainboard with Dual GbE and Quad Display

Signage and kiosk projects that need four screens but only a light processing load can use the R2000 generation without moving to a 35 W part. The GH171-R2312B is the entry R2000 build in the GH171 series, a 25 W processor on the 170 x 170 mm Mini-ITX board with dual GbE and six COM ports.

The AMD Ryzen Embedded R2312 runs at 2.7 GHz with boost to 3.5 GHz and three Radeon Vega compute units, in a 25 W TDP. It drives four independent DP++ displays at up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz and decodes H.265, H.264 and VP9 in hardware, so menus, timetables and adverts play without loading the CPU. Two DDR4 3200 SO-DIMM slots take up to 32 GB.

At the rear are two GbE ports on Realtek RTL8111HN controllers, two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, RS-232/422/485 and RS-232 DB-9 ports and audio jacks. Internal headers add four RS-232 ports, four USB 2.0 and a vertical USB 3.0 Type-A connector. Like the R1000 builds, this build runs its PCIe x16 Gen3 slot at x4 signal; storage is an M.2 M-key 2280 socket and two SATA 3.0 ports.

The GH171-R2312B runs from 12 V DC on a 4-pin connector or DC barrel jack across 0 to 60 °C, with an active cooler, TPM 2.0 and CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance. DFI lists Windows 10 and Linux support, and a watchdog timer programmable from 1 to 255 seconds helps unattended screens recover on their own.
