DFI GH171-R2314B Quad-Core AMD Ryzen Embedded R2314 Mini-ITX Embedded Motherboard with Dual GbE and Quad Display

Test equipment, frame capture and motion control systems often depend on one add-in card, and the lanes behind the slot decide how much data it can move. The GH171-R2314B gives its PCIe x16 Gen3 slot x8 signal, pairing it with a 35 W AMD Ryzen Embedded R2000 processor on the 170 x 170 mm Mini-ITX board of the GH171 series.

The AMD Ryzen Embedded R2314 runs at 2.1 GHz with boost to 3.5 GHz and six Radeon Vega compute units, in a 35 W TDP. Four DP++ outputs drive independent displays at up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz, and hardware decode covers H.265, H.264 and VP9. OpenCL 2.1 and DirectX 12 support on the graphics also suit GPU-assisted processing of captured data. Two DDR4 3200 SO-DIMM slots take up to 32 GB, and DFI lists Windows 10 and Linux support.

Beside the x8 slot, storage runs to an M.2 M-key 2280 socket and two SATA 3.0 ports. The rear panel carries two GbE ports on Realtek RTL8111HN controllers, two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, an RS-232/422/485 and an RS-232 DB-9 port, and audio. On the board are four RS-232 headers, four USB 2.0 and a vertical USB 3.0 Type-A connector.

Power is 12 V DC on a 4-pin connector or DC barrel jack. The GH171-R2314B operates from 0 to 60 °C with an active cooler, TPM 2.0, a watchdog timer and CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance. The GH171-R2514B has the same 35 W TDP with eight compute units and a 3.7 GHz boost, and the GH171-R2544B raises the TDP to 54 W.
