DFI GHF51-EN-46R16 AMD Ryzen Embedded R1606G (R1000 Series) 1.8″ Femto-ITX SBC with 4GB DDR4 Memory and Wide Temperature

Ticket machines, outdoor information points and roadside cabinets see cold mornings and hot afternoons, often with no heating or air conditioning inside the enclosure. The GHF51-EN-46R16 is the wide temperature build of the DFI GHF51 series, a 1.8″ Femto-ITX SBC rated from -20 to 70 °C, so a board this small can go where a standard 0 to 60 °C build would be out of its range.

Compute comes from the AMD Ryzen Embedded R1606G at 2.6 GHz and 12 W TDP, with AMD Radeon Vega graphics (three compute units) that decode and encode H.265 and decode VP9 in hardware. The 4 GB of single-channel DDR4 at 2400 MHz and the 64 GB eMMC are both soldered to the board, which removes socketed parts that can suffer under temperature cycling. DFI lists Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 64-bit and Linux support, and a firmware TPM 2.0 is included.

Two HDMI 1.4b outputs drive screens at up to 4096 x 2160 at 24 Hz. Networking is one GbE port on an Intel I211AT controller, and a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port connects peripherals. A full-size mini PCIe socket with PCIe and USB 2.0 signals can hold a wireless module for sites without a cable run, and 8-bit DIO on a board header reads a door switch or drives a relay.

Power is 12 V DC on a terminal block, and cooling is a passive heatsink with no fan to clog in a dusty cabinet. The GHF51-EN-46R16 carries CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance. For indoor equipment, the GHF51-BN-46R16 has the same processor and memory at 0 to 60 °C, and the GHF51-BN-86R16 doubles the memory to 8 GB.
