DFI GHF51-BN-46R16 Dual-Core AMD Ryzen Embedded R1606G Femto-ITX Single Board Computer with 4GB DDR4 Memory and 64GB eMMC

A self-service kiosk or thin client spends most of its time waiting, then has to respond at once when someone touches the screen. The GHF51-BN-46R16 is a 1.8″ Femto-ITX single board computer in the DFI GHF51 series, and it pairs the quickest processor in the range with 4 GB of memory for interactive applications that need a fast response rather than a large working set.

Its AMD Ryzen Embedded R1606G runs at 2.6 GHz with a 12 W TDP, the highest base clock of the four GHF51 processors. AMD Radeon Vega graphics with three compute units handle the user interface and video, with hardware H.265 encode and decode. The 4 GB of DDR4 at 2400 MHz is soldered to the board in a single channel, and 64 GB of eMMC stores the operating system, browser and application. Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 64-bit and Linux are supported, and a firmware TPM 2.0 is fitted.

Two HDMI 1.4b outputs support resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 at 24 Hz, so a kiosk can run its touch screen and a separate information display. The USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port connects a touch controller, reader or camera, and one GbE port on an Intel I211AT controller links to the back office. A full-size mini PCIe socket can take a Wi-Fi module, and 8-bit DIO drives a status light or reads a door switch.

The GHF51-BN-46R16 runs from 12 V DC on a terminal block, cools through a passive heatsink and operates from 0 to 60 °C, with CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance. The same processor comes with 8 GB in the GHF51-BN-86R16 for heavier applications, and rated from -20 to 70 °C in the GHF51-EN-46R16 for kiosks in unheated spaces.
