DFI ICX610 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable Ice Lake-SP ATX Server Motherboards with Dual 10GbE and PCIe Gen4

Some industrial systems do the work of a small server room from a cabinet on site: a vision server taking feeds from a whole inspection line, an imaging system reconstructing scans, or an edge node filtering sensor data before it reaches the network. The DFI ICX610 series is a 305 x 244 mm ATX server motherboard for those builds, with one socketed Intel Xeon processor, eight memory slots and six PCIe Gen4 slots. The series has one board, the ICX610-C621A, which DFI supplies in several part numbers that populate or leave out 10GbE, IPMI, VGA and the second COM port.

The LGA 4189 socket takes 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors (Ice Lake-SP) on the Intel C621A chipset. DFI lists 17 Xeon Gold and Silver models, from the eight-core Gold 5315Y to the 32-core Gold 6338N and Gold 6314U, with TDP support up to 205 W. Eight 288-pin DDR4 slots take registered ECC memory at up to 3200 MHz, up to 512 GB in total, which leaves room for large image buffers, in-memory databases and several virtual machines on one board.

Networking starts with two GbE ports on Intel I210AT controllers. Depending on the part number, two 10GbE ports on an Intel X550-AT2 controller and a dedicated IPMI LAN port on a Realtek RTL8211F are added. The ASPEED AST2500 BMC provides IPMI and Redfish remote management on the IPMI builds and a VGA output at up to 1920 x 1200 where VGA is populated. The rear panel carries four USB 3.1 Gen 1 and two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, with two more USB 3.1 Gen 1 and three USB 2.0 on the board. One RS-232 port sits on a DB9, a second RS-232 on an internal header on some part numbers, and 16-bit DIO reaches machine signals.

Expansion is three PCIe x16 slots and three open-ended PCIe x8 slots, all Gen4, with the first pair running as x16 on one slot or x8/x8 across both. That suits GPUs, frame grabbers and fast network or NVMe cards in the same chassis. Storage is an M.2 2280 M-key for NVMe at PCIe Gen3 x4 or SATA, plus six SATA 3.0 ports with RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10.

Power comes from an ATX supply on 24-pin and 8-pin connectors. The board operates from 0 to 55 °C, so it typically sits in a ventilated cabinet or rack with airflow sized to the processor. It carries CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance, with Infineon TPM 2.0, a watchdog programmable from 1 to 255 seconds and Realtek ALC888S audio. DFI lists Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSB, Windows Server 2019 and Ubuntu 20.04.
