A vision server that takes feeds from a whole inspection line, or an imaging system that reconstructs scans next to the scanner, needs data-centre compute in a cabinet on site. The ICX610-C621A is the board in the DFI ICX610 series: a 305 x 244 mm ATX server motherboard with one socketed Intel Xeon processor, eight memory slots and six PCIe Gen4 slots.
The LGA 4189 socket takes 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors (Ice Lake-SP) on the Intel C621A chipset, from the eight-core Gold 5315Y to the 32-core Gold 6338N and Gold 6314U, with TDP support up to 205 W. We fit the processor and cooler to the chassis airflow. Eight DDR4 slots take registered ECC memory at up to 3200 MHz, up to 512 GB. The ASPEED AST2500 BMC drives a VGA output at up to 1920 x 1200 on builds with VGA populated.
DFI builds the ICX610-C621A in several part numbers, so some I/O is an option. Two GbE ports on Intel I210AT controllers come on every build; two 10GbE ports on an Intel X550-AT2, a dedicated IPMI LAN port with IPMI and Redfish management, VGA and a second RS-232 port are populated by part number. Four USB 3.1 Gen 1 and two USB 2.0 Type-A ports sit on the rear, with two USB 3.1 Gen 1 and three USB 2.0 inside, plus an RS-232 DB9 and 16-bit DIO. Expansion is three PCIe x16 and three open-ended PCIe x8 slots, all Gen4. An M.2 2280 M-key takes NVMe or SATA and six SATA 3.0 ports support RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10.
Power comes from an ATX supply on 24-pin and 8-pin connectors, and the board operates from 0 to 55 °C. It carries CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance, with Infineon TPM 2.0 and a watchdog programmable from 1 to 255 seconds. DFI lists Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSB, Windows Server 2019 and Ubuntu 20.04.
