DFI MTH556-BCN-135H 14-Core Intel Core Ultra 5 135H 3.5″ Industrial Motherboard with 9 to 36 V DC Input and Dual 2.5GbE

Graphics-heavy HMIs, self-service kiosks and video signage players tend to lean on the GPU more than on the processor cores. The MTH556-BCN-135H is the build in the DFI MTH556 series for that balance: a 3.5″ industrial motherboard with the Intel Arc graphics of the H-series parts and a Core Ultra 5 processor, on a 146 x 102 mm board for integration into panels and enclosures.

The Intel Core Ultra 5 135H is a 14-core Meteor Lake processor with a 28 W TDP, running from 1.7 GHz up to 4.6 GHz. Intel Arc graphics handles AV1, HEVC, VP9 and AVC decode and encode in hardware, which suits playback of several high-resolution streams alongside a user interface. Memory runs from two DDR5 SO-DIMM sockets at 5600 MHz, with up to 96 GB in total.

Three displays run at once: HDMI at up to 4096 x 2160, USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode at up to 4096 x 2304 at 60 Hz, and dual-channel 24-bit LVDS at up to 1920 x 1200 for a built-in panel. Two 2.5GbE ports, three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, two internal USB 2.0 ports, four COM ports (two RS-232/422/485 and two RS-232) and 8-bit DIO cover card readers, printers, touch controllers and relays. M.2 sockets take a PCIe Gen4 x4 SSD, a 4G or 5G modem with nano SIM, and a Wi-Fi module.

Power comes in at 9 to 36 V DC on a 4-pin connector. The MTH556-BCN-135H operates from -5 to 65 °C with DFI’s active cooler, which suits kiosks and cabinets inside buildings, and runs Windows 11 and 10 IoT Enterprise 64-bit or Linux with TPM 2.0 and CE, FCC, UKCA, KC and RoHS compliance.
