DFI PTH171-IE-U5335RE Intel Core Ultra 5 335RE Mini-ITX SBC with Triple 2.5GbE and Wide Temperature

Kiosks, ticket machines and outdoor control panels need a current processor, a couple of screens and a card reader or printer, all in an enclosure that sees cold mornings and warm afternoons. The PTH171-IE-U5335RE is the entry build in the DFI PTH171 series, and it brings the -IE- feature set to those projects at the lowest CPU tier.

Its Intel Core Ultra 5 335RE (Panther Lake) sits in the 15 W configuration DFI lists for the RE parts, with Intel vPro and Arc Xe3 graphics. Two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots take up to 128 GB in dual channel. HDMI 2.0, DP++ and USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode drive three 4K displays at 60 Hz, and DFI’s optional M.2 A-key module adds an eDP, LVDS or VGA panel as a fourth.

For peripherals there are two USB 3.2 Gen 2, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 and one USB 2.0 port at the rear, five USB 2.0 on internal headers for touch and card readers, four COM ports (two RS-232/422/485, two RS-232) for printers and payment terminals, and 8-bit DIO. Three 2.5GbE ports on Intel I226V and I226LM controllers, an M.2 B-key with Nano SIM for cellular, an M.2 E-key for Wi-Fi, an M.2 M-key for NVMe and a PCIe Gen5 x4 slot cover connectivity and expansion.

The PTH171-IE-U5335RE runs from 12 V DC on a barrel connector or 4-pin connector and operates across a wide temperature range of -20 to 70 °C under an active cooler, with CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance. For more CPU at the same 15 W class, PTH171-IE-U7365RE uses the Core Ultra 7 365RE. PTH171-IE-U5336HRE keeps the Core Ultra 5 tier with the 336HRE.
