DFI PTH173-IB-U9388H Intel Core Ultra 9 388H (Panther Lake) Industrial Mini-ITX Motherboard with 12 to 28 V DC Input and Triple 2.5GbE

Machine builders who standardise on 24 V DC often have to add a converter to run a high-end board. The PTH173-IB-U9388H is the Core Ultra 9 build in the DFI PTH173 series, and it takes 12 to 28 V DC directly, so a multi-camera inspection system can run from the machine’s own supply.

It carries the Intel Core Ultra 9 388H (Panther Lake) with Intel vPro and the larger 12 Xe-core Arc Xe3 graphics configuration, the most processor and GPU in the series. Two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots run at up to 7200 MHz in dual channel and take up to 128 GB. HDMI 2.0 at 4096 x 2160, DP++ at 4096 x 2304 and a USB-C port with DisplayPort Alt Mode give three screens at 60 Hz, and an optional M.2 A-key module adds a fourth.

Three 2.5GbE ports on Intel I226V and I226LM controllers carry camera, machine and uplink traffic separately. At the rear sit two USB 3.2 Gen 2, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 and one USB 2.0 port, with five USB 2.0 on internal headers, four COM ports (two RS-232/422/485 and two RS-232) and 8-bit DIO for triggers and reject gates. This -IB- build is M.2 only: an M-key with PCIe Gen5 x4 for NVMe, a B-key with Nano SIM, an E-key for Wi-Fi, plus two SATA ports.

Power is 12 to 28 V DC on a barrel connector or 4-pin connector, the board operates from -5 to 65 °C under an active cooler, and it carries CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance. Where the machine needs a PCIe frame grabber or sits in an unheated hall, PTH173-IE-U7366HRE adds a PCIe Gen5 x4 slot and a -20 to 70 °C rating. PTH173-IB-UX7358HR keeps the 12 Xe-core graphics with the Core Ultra X7 358HR.
