DFI VC500-CMS-MXM-10G-Q Intel 10th Gen Core In-Vehicle Computer with 2x 10GbE and Ampere or Turing MXM

Inspection and mapping vehicles often pair high-rate cameras or lidar with GPU processing, and the bottleneck is usually getting the data in. The VC500-CMS-MXM-10G-Q is the fibre build of the DFI VC500-CMS-MXM series, an in-vehicle computer with two 10G SFP+ ports, an MXM GPU slot and 10th Gen Intel Core processors, running on 9 to 50 V DC.

DFI offers the Core i9-10900TE, i7-10700TE, i5-10500TE or i3-10100TE, all at 35 W on the Intel Q470E chipset, with DDR4-2933 on two SO-DIMMs up to 64 GB. The MXM slot takes a Type A or B module: DFI lists the NVIDIA RTX A500, RTX A1000, RTX A2000 and Quadro RTX 3000, and the BIOS selects the MXM GPU or the integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630. With a GPU fitted, four DisplayPort outputs come from the MXM module, alongside a DP++/HDMI combo and two DP++ from the processor. It runs Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC, Windows 10 IoT Enterprise or Ubuntu 20.04.

The two SFP+ cages run on an Intel X710-BM2 controller and take 10G fibre modules for camera, lidar or uplink connections. Two GbE ports on RJ45, four RS-232/422/485 and one RS-232 port, eight USB 3.1 Gen 2, 8-bit isolated DI and DO at 2 kV and audio are standard, with two CAN ports and a DFI out-of-band RJ45 port as options. Two swappable 2.5″ SATA bays with lock support RAID 0/1, an M.2 2280 slot (PCIe Gen3 x4) takes an NVMe boot drive, and M.2 and mini PCIe slots take optional 5G, Wi-Fi or CAN modules.

Power is 9 to 50 V DC with ignition on a 3W3 connector. The VC500-CMS-MXM-10G-Q runs from -20 °C to 60 °C with passive cooling (without turbo boost, DFI notes), with fan cooling optional on request, is shock and vibration tested to MIL-STD-810G and wall mounts; DFI lists FCC, E-Mark compliance, CE, RoHS and UKCA.
