DFI VC500-CMS-10G-W-X127 Intel Xeon W-1270TE Rugged Embedded Computer with 2x 10GbE and -20 to 70 °C

On a long survey or inspection run, a single memory error can spoil hours of capture. The VC500-CMS-10G-W-X127 is the build of the DFI VC500-CMS series for that risk: a rugged embedded computer with a fixed Intel Xeon W-1270TE, ECC memory support and two 10G SFP+ fibre ports, running on 9 to 50 V DC.

The Xeon W-1270TE has eight cores at up to 4.4 GHz within 35 W, on the Intel W480E chipset. Memory is DDR4-2933 on two SO-DIMMs, up to 64 GB, and DFI supports ECC with this processor only. Intel UHD Graphics 630 drives HDMI and two DP++ outputs for three displays, and the M.2 2280 slot runs PCIe Gen3 x4 for an NVMe capture drive. It runs Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC, Windows 10 IoT Enterprise or Ubuntu 20.04.

The two SFP+ cages run on an Intel X710-BM2 controller for 10G fibre links. Two GbE ports on RJ45 (Intel I219LM and I210IT), four RS-232/422/485 and one RS-232 port on DB9, line-out, mic-in, line-in and three accessible SIM slots are standard. Eight USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports and 8-bit isolated DI and DO at 2 kV complete the panel, with two CAN ports and an OOB RJ45 port optional. Two swappable 2.5″ SATA bays with lock support RAID 0/1, an M.2 2280 slot (PCIe Gen3 x4) takes an NVMe boot drive, and M.2 B-key, M.2 E-key and mini PCIe slots take optional 5G, Wi-Fi or CAN modules, with dTPM 2.0 built in.

Power is 9 to 50 V DC with ignition and on/off delay management on a three-pin terminal block. The VC500-CMS-10G-W-X127 runs fanless from -20 °C to 70 °C (without turbo boost, DFI notes), is shock and vibration tested to MIL-STD-810G and wall mounts; DFI lists FCC, E-Mark (E24) compliance, CE, RoHS and UKCA. We supply it configured and tested, with ECC memory, SSDs, SFP+ modules, the OS image and any wireless module fitted. The VC500-CMS-10G-Q offers the same fibre ports with Core i3 to i9, and the VC500-CMS-MXM-10G-Q adds an MXM GPU.
