DFI WL053-ECA-4305UE 2.5″ Pico-ITX SBC with Intel Celeron 4305UE, Wide-Range DC and -30 to 80 °C

Equipment in a control cabinet or a machine often runs from a 24 V DC supply, and a board that needs a regulated 12 V adds a converter to a very small enclosure. The WL053-ECA-4305UE is the Celeron 4305UE extended-temperature build in the DFI WL053 series: a 2.5 inch Pico-ITX SBC, also called a Pico-ITX motherboard, that accepts 9 to 36 V DC directly.

The Intel Celeron 4305UE is a dual-core processor at 2.0 GHz with 2 MB cache and a 15 W TDP, with Intel UHD Graphics 610. That makes it the simplest processor in the range, suited to lighter control and display tasks. One DDR4 SO-DIMM socket takes up to 32 GB of single-channel DDR4-2400. Graphics handle hardware decode and encode for H.264 and HEVC, and a DP++/HDMI combo port drives a single 4K monitor at up to 4096 x 2304 at 60 Hz over DP++.

Rear I/O covers one GbE port on an Intel I219V/I219LM controller, two USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports and the DP++/HDMI output. Internal headers add two USB 2.0, one RS-232/422/485 port, 8-bit digital I/O and SMBus. Two M.2 B key 3042/2242 sockets take SATA or PCIe x1 SSDs, and an M.2 E key 2230 adds a PCIe x2 or USB 2.0 card. The WL053-BCA-4305UE is the same board rated for 0 to 60 °C, and the WL051-ECC-4305UE adds a second GbE port and eDP on a 12 V DC input.

Power is 9 to 36 V DC on a 2-pin terminal block, drawing a typical 5.16 W and up to 34.92 W on the i7 build at 12 V. The WL053-ECA-4305UE is fanless, rated for -30 to 80 °C operation and ships with an 11 mm heat spreader, with heatsinks or a cooler as options. It measures 100 x 72 mm, supports Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 64-bit and Linux, and has fTPM 2.0 and a watchdog. It carries CE, FCC and UKCA marks and is RoHS compliant.
