DMM-32DX-AT Overview
Measurement systems in vehicles, aircraft and outdoor enclosures see wide temperature swings, and an analogue input board that drifts with temperature loses accuracy just when conditions are hardest. The DMM-32DX-AT is Diamond Systems’ 32-channel PC/104 data acquisition module built around that problem, with 16-bit inputs, 16-bit outputs and a patented auto-autocalibration circuit that keeps the readings in calibration without help from the application.
An on-board microcontroller watches the board temperature and recalibrates whenever it moves by 5 °C, which Diamond says typically limits error to ±2 to ±3 LSB before calibration and ±1 LSB after. The 32 inputs can be set as 32 single-ended, 16 differential or a mix, with bipolar ranges from ±10 V down to ±0.625 V and unipolar ranges from 0-10 V down to 0-0.625 V. Sampling reaches 250 kHz across one channel or many, and a 1,024-sample FIFO with a programmable interrupt threshold keeps transfers gap-free under any operating system.
Four 16-bit analogue outputs cover ±5 V, ±10 V, 0-5 V and 0-10 V, with a 1,024-sample waveform buffer for one, two or four channels at up to 100,000 frames per second. Digital I/O adds 24 buffered lines with ESD protection, programmable in groups of eight and rated for 64 mA sink, plus four auxiliary inputs and four outputs, a 32-bit pacer clock and a 16-bit counter/timer. The DMM-32X-AT is the same board with 12-bit outputs, and the DMM-16R-AT suits 16-channel jobs.
The DMM-32DX-AT runs from +5 V at 410 mA typical and is tested and guaranteed from -40 to +85 °C. Inputs withstand ±35 V without damage, only ceramic capacitors are used, and Diamond quotes an MTBF of 972,275 hours at 20 °C. Conformal coating, latching connectors and 0-ohm resistors in place of jumpers are available as options, and the Universal Driver supports Linux, Windows and DOS.

Official Diamond Systems UK Distributor
Things Embedded is an official Diamond Systems UK distributor, supplying the DMM-32DX-AT as Diamond builds it and specifying it for UK aerospace, defence and transport measurement systems. It stacks on the PC/104 ISA bus of a HELIOS SBC, with a JUPITER-MM DC/DC supply powering the stack.
The DMM-32DX-AT sits among our data acquisition and I/O modules, our PC/104 I/O modules and our analog I/O modules. Where a PC/104 system needs 32 accurate 16-bit inputs and 16-bit outputs across a wide temperature range, this is the model to specify.
