A mobile robot or an inspection cell often runs one perception stack that needs more processing than an Orin Nano gives, while its sensors sit on one network and its controller on another. The DSBOX-ORNX-LAN-AB8 covers that ground with the NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX 8GB in a compact industrial embedded computer from the Forecr DSBOX-ORNX-LAN series.

The Orin NX 8GB module combines NVIDIA Ampere GPU cores with Arm64 CPU cores and 8 GB of LPDDR5, moving the DSBOX-ORNX-LAN-AB8 into the Orin NX module class above both Orin Nano options. Ubuntu Linux 20.04 and JetPack 5.1 are supported, so the same software runs across the range if the project later changes module.

Around the module, the DSBOX-ORNX-LAN-AB8 provides two Gigabit Ethernet ports, the second on its own PCIe-to-Ethernet controller, three USB 3.1 Type-C ports, an HDMI 2.0 output at up to 3840 x 2160, one CAN bus port, one RS232 and one RS422 port, and two digital inputs with two digital outputs, with one Type-C port doubling for recovery. Two M.2 Key-M slots take SSD storage, a 2280 socket on four PCIe lanes and a 2230 socket, while an M.2 Key-E socket adds WiFi and Bluetooth. A 9-28 VDC input suits common 12 V and 24 V supplies in cabinets, machines and vehicles.

Forecr specifies an aluminium enclosure that dissipates heat and protects against dust, shock and vibration, with fanless operation across a -25°C to +85°C ambient range. The industrial embedded computer measures 110 x 130 x 60 mm and weighs 765 g. For larger model sets the DSBOX-ORNX-LAN-AB16 doubles the memory with the Orin NX 16GB, and for lighter inference the DSBOX-ORNX-LAN-AC8 uses the Orin Nano 8GB.
