Forecr MILBOX-AGX NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin Military Computers with IP67 and MIL-STD-810

The Forecr MILBOX-AGX series is a family of military computers built on the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin 32GB and 64GB modules. With 4x Gigabit Ethernet, 2x CAN bus, 4x RS-232 and 4x RS-422 serial ports, 64 GB eMMC plus an M.2 Key-M SSD slot, and IP67 sealing on a 12-36 VDC input, the MILBOX-AGX series suits defence, marine and aerospace deployments.

  • 4x Gigabit Ethernet: Four Gigabit Ethernet ports connect cameras, sensors, radios and onboard networks without an external switch for small installations.
  • CAN and Serial I/O: Two CAN bus ports, four RS-232 ports and four RS-422 ports link vehicle buses, legacy equipment and mission subsystems.
  • eMMC and M.2 Storage: 64 GB of eMMC 5.1 flash holds the operating system, with an M.2 Key-M slot for NVMe SSD recording and data storage.
  • 12-36 VDC Input: A 12-36 VDC input at 28 VDC nominal runs the computer directly from standard military vehicle and aircraft supplies.
  • MIL-STD and IP67 Design: Designed to meet MIL-STD-1275/704, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461 and IP67, operating from -25°C to +70°C.

MILBOX-AGX Description

Military vehicles, vessels and airborne systems are adding AI for perception and decision support, but the computer that runs it has to fit an existing installation: serial and CAN links to legacy equipment, Gigabit networks, a 28 VDC supply and an environment of shock, vibration, dust and water. The Forecr MILBOX-AGX series is built for that job, placing NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin compute inside a sealed IP67 enclosure designed to meet MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-1275/704.

Every MILBOX-AGX military computer shares one carrier design. Networking is 4x Gigabit Ethernet, and field I/O covers 2x CAN bus, 4x RS-232 and 4x RS-422 serial ports, giving eight serial channels for radios, sensors and older subsystems. Peripherals connect through 1x USB 3.1 and 2x USB 2.0, with a further USB 2.0 port as a serial console, and display output is 1x HDMI. Storage combines 64 GB of eMMC 5.1 flash with an M.2 Key-M SSD slot for NVMe drives and an SD card slot. Power comes from a 12-36 VDC input at 28 VDC nominal, and the software stack is Ubuntu Linux 20.04 with JetPack 5.x. The enclosure measures 210mm x 296mm x 92mm and weighs 4750 g.

The two models differ by module. The MILBOX-AGX-64S carries the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin 64GB with up to 275 TOPS of AI performance, for deep neural networks, multi-camera analytics and sensor fusion that need the most memory. The MILBOX-AGX-32S uses the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin 32GB with the identical I/O, enclosure and environmental envelope, suited to inference workloads that fit in 32GB of LPDDR5x. Because the two models share connectors, mounting and power, a programme can design one installation and fit either module as its AI requirements change.

Forecr positions the MILBOX-AGX for defence, aerospace, marine and transportation work, from real-time threat analysis and target tracking to onboard navigation and data processing on ships. Both military computers operate from -25°C to +70°C, have no wireless interfaces, and use a ruggedised enclosure built to withstand extreme temperatures, shock and vibration. IP67 sealing protects against dust and temporary immersion, so the MILBOX-AGX can be mounted outside protected equipment bays as well as within them.

Official Forecr UK Distributor

Things Embedded is an official Forecr UK distributor, supplying Forecr's rugged and industrial NVIDIA Jetson computers and carrier boards to UK defence and industrial programmes. Where a system needs a faster uplink, the MILBOX-AGXMAX adds 10G Ethernet and configurable BNC video inputs to AGX Orin. The MILBOX-AGX-SDI focuses on SDI video capture for tactical systems, and the DSBOX-AGX brings AGX Orin into a fanless industrial enclosure for factories, cabinets and other sites that do not need military sealing.

Across our catalogue the MILBOX-AGX series sits with our in-vehicle computers, since its 12-36 VDC input matches 28 VDC vehicle supplies, and with our rugged NVIDIA Jetson computers for shock and vibration. IP67 sealing also places both models among our IP67-rated computers for exposed deck and vehicle installations, where dust, rain and spray would otherwise reach the electronics. With CAN bus and eight serial ports, the series also connects directly to the legacy equipment found on older vehicles and vessels.
