Neousys MezIO-R11/R12 2.5" SATA Storage MezIO Modules with Isolated DIO Option

Compact embedded computers are chosen because they fit where a larger box will not: behind a panel, in a small cabinet or in a vehicle. The trade-off is usually room for one drive, and a project that has to keep weeks of logs, inspection images or local video can fill it quickly. A USB drive or external enclosure is one more part to mount, secure and support. The Neousys MezIO-R11/R12 series adds a second drive inside the POC computer instead, using the expansion position that is already there.

Both modules mount inside the host on a high-speed board-to-board connector with three-point mezzanine mounting, using the one MezIO interface each Neousys system provides. Each provides one internal SATA port for a 2.5-inch HDD or SSD, which gives the system a separate volume for data alongside its main drive. Keeping recordings and logs apart from the operating system can make it simpler to replace, re-image or swap either drive. An SSD typically suits installations with vibration or where fast access matters, while an HDD can suit long recordings where capacity is the priority. Because the drive sits on the module inside the computer, the system keeps its original footprint and mounting.

The series has two modules. The MezIO-R11 provides the drive position on its own, for systems that simply need more storage. The MezIO-R12 adds four isolated digital inputs and four isolated digital outputs on their own connector, with polling mode access and a change-of-state interrupt on the inputs, so a small installation can read a camera trigger or door contact and drive a status lamp or reject output from the same module. Both use the single MezIO interface, so the choice comes down to whether the system needs digital I/O as well as storage.

Typical uses include data loggers, kiosks and signage players that keep content locally, compact vision and recording systems, and MezIO-R11/R12 installations in small cabinets or vehicles where a separate storage box or I/O unit would not fit.
