MezIO I/O Modules for Rugged Embedded Computers
A MezIO module adds application I/O inside a compatible rugged embedded computer, on a mezzanine board that mounts on the motherboard instead of taking an expansion slot. It turns a general-purpose box PC into a controller with the serial, digital I/O, network or vehicle power functions the job needs.
Options include isolated digital I/O, multi-mode serial ports, Gigabit Ethernet with PoE+, USB 3.1, a 2.5 inch drive bay and ignition power control, suited to factory automation, machine vision and in-vehicle systems where every port has to sit inside one rugged enclosure.

MezIO-C180/C181 8-Port Serial Modules
Four multi-mode RS-232/422/485 ports plus four RS-232 or RS-422/485 ports, all on one 68-pin SCSI-II connector.
MezIO-D330 and D230/D220 Isolated DIO Modules
Isolated digital inputs and outputs at up to 24 V DC in 16 or 32 channels, with every channel on one 68-pin SCSI-II connector.
MezIO-G4/G4P Gigabit Ethernet Modules
Four extra Gigabit Ethernet ports on Intel I210 controllers, with 802.3at PoE+ on the G4P for cameras and sensors on PoE+ builds.
MezIO-U4 USB 3.1 Modules
Four USB 3.1 Type-A ports, with 5 Gbps on every port on the U4-50 and bandwidth shared between port pairs on the U4-30.
MezIO-R11/R12 Storage Modules
A 2.5 inch SATA drive bay inside POC computers, with four isolated inputs and four isolated outputs added on the R12.
MezIO-V20/V21 Ignition Control Modules
Ignition power control with predefined power-on and power-off delays for 12 V and 24 V vehicles, with a mini PCIe socket on the V20 and V21.

What to Specify in a MezIO Expansion Module

Host Computer
Each module fits specific Nuvo and POC models; the Works With list on every module page shows which.
I/O Function
Serial, isolated digital I/O, Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.1, a drive bay or ignition control; each system takes one module.
Port and Channel Count
Eight serial ports, 16 or 32 digital I/O channels, or four network or USB ports per module.
PoE+ Power
The G4P powers cameras and sensors at up to 25.5 W per port on hosts built with the PoE+ option.
Vehicle Power
Ignition control modules handle delayed power on and off, low-battery protection and 12 V or 24 V supplies.
Cabling and Terminals
Serial and digital I/O modules bring every channel out on one SCSI-68 connector, so plan the cable run to the cabinet with the module.
