Neousys MezIO-V20/V21 Ignition Power Control MezIO Modules for 12 V and 24 V Vehicles
The Neousys MezIO-V20/V21 series is a family of ignition power control MezIO modules for in-vehicle Nuvo and POC computers, with predefined power-on and power-off delay modes, 12 mA ignition-off standby power, low-battery protection and support for 12 V and 24 V vehicles, plus a mini PCIe socket on two versions. The MezIO-V20/V21 series suits bus, truck, fleet and service vehicle deployments.
- Predefined Power-On and Power-Off Delays: Predefined delay modes let the computer start and shut down in step with the vehicle, without custom software.
- 12 mA Ignition-Off Standby Power: Ultra-low 12 mA standby draw with the ignition off helps protect the vehicle battery when the vehicle is parked.
- Low-Battery Protection: Low-battery protection works alongside guarded power-on and power-off delay durations that ride out brief ignition changes.
- System Hard-Off and BIOS POST Check: A system hard-off and a BIOS POST check complete the ignition control features for unattended vehicle installations.
- 12 V and 24 V Vehicle Support: Supports 12 V DC small vehicles and 24 V DC buses and trucks, with one module covering both classes of supply.

MezIO-V20/V21 Description
A computer in a vehicle has to follow the ignition. It should start when the engine starts, ride out a short stop or a stall, shut down cleanly when the vehicle is parked and draw almost nothing from the battery overnight. Getting that wrong means corrupted files, flat batteries or a system that is not ready when the shift starts. The Neousys MezIO-V20/V21 series handles ignition power control from a module inside the computer, so there is no separate ignition controller or timer relay to wire and mount behind the dashboard. Because the delay modes are predefined, setting up a fleet of vehicles to behave the same way is a matter of choosing the same mode on each system.
All three modules mount inside the host on a high-speed board-to-board connector with three-point mezzanine mounting, using the one MezIO interface each Neousys system provides. Each provides ignition power control with predefined power-on and power-off delay modes, so the start-up and shut-down delays can be set to suit the vehicle without custom software. Ignition-off standby draw is an ultra-low 12 mA. Advanced features cover low-battery protection, guarded power-on and power-off delay durations, system hard-off and a BIOS POST check. The modules support 12 V DC small vehicles and 24 V DC buses and trucks. On the MezIO-V20 and MezIO-V21, the mode is chosen on a rotary switch on the rear panel, and low-battery protection shuts the system down if the input stays below 11 V on a 12 V supply or 18 V on a 24 V supply for 60 seconds.
The series has three modules, matched to different host computers. The MezIO-V20-EP provides the ignition control on its own for the Nuvo-9000E/P/DE, Nuvo-11000E and Nuvo GC computers. The MezIO-V20 adds one full-size mini PCIe socket wired for USB 2.0, with a SIM socket, for USB-based cellular or GPS cards. The MezIO-V21 adds a full-size mini PCIe socket wired for both PCIe and USB 2.0, also with a SIM socket, so it takes cards that need either interface.
We fit the MezIO-V20/V21 module that suits your host inside the Neousys computer, set the ignition delay mode and test the build before it ships. The MezIO-V20-EP fits the Nuvo-9000E/P/DE, Nuvo-11000E, Nuvo-11160GC, Nuvo-9160GC and Nuvo-9166GC, and on the Nuvo-11531/11588 it is fitted as the optional ignition power control, which we confirm with the quote. The MezIO-V20 fits the POC-900, POC-700 and POC-700-FT plus the Nuvo-9000LP and Nuvo-11000LP, and the MezIO-V21 fits the same computers plus the POC-600. Typical uses include buses, trucks, fleet and service vehicles.

Official Neousys UK Distributor
Things Embedded is an official Neousys UK distributor, and we supply the MezIO-V20/V21 series fitted inside the Neousys computer you order, with the ignition delay mode set and the build tested before it ships. Where the same vehicle computer needs serial devices on its MezIO interface instead, the MezIO-C180/C181 series adds eight RS-232/422/485 ports. We can help you choose between the MezIO-V20-EP, MezIO-V20 and MezIO-V21 for your host computer, suggest a delay mode from your vehicle supply and ignition wiring, and fit any mini PCIe card you specify. On the Nuvo-11531/11588, the MezIO-V20-EP is fitted as the optional ignition power control, and we confirm it with the quote. Speak to a Neousys specialist on our team with your vehicle details, including the supply voltage, the ignition signal source and how long the system should run after the engine stops.
Across our range, the MezIO-V20/V21 series sits with our MezIO modules. The modules fit in-vehicle host computers including the Nuvo-9160GC, Nuvo-9166GC and POC-900.
