Neousys MezIO-G4 4-Port Gigabit Ethernet MezIO Module with Intel I210 Controllers

Industrial systems often need more network ports than a computer has on its front panel: one link to the plant network, one to a machine controller, one or two for cameras or a separate sensor network. Keeping those apart on their own ports is usually simpler and more predictable than putting them all through one switch. The MezIO-G4 is the non-PoE module in the Neousys MezIO-G4/G4P series of four-port Gigabit Ethernet MezIO modules.

It adds four Gigabit Ethernet ports, each driven by its own Intel I210 controller, with jumbo frame support up to 9.5 kB. Because every port has a dedicated controller, traffic on one network does not share a controller with the others. Ports run over CAT-5e or CAT-6 cable up to 100 m. Where the connected cameras or sensors need power over the same cable, the MezIO-G4P adds IEEE 802.3at PoE+ at up to 25.5 W per port.

We fit the MezIO-G4 inside the Neousys system on its high-speed board-to-board connector with three-point mezzanine mounting, then configure the network ports and test the build before it ships. Each system has one MezIO interface. The MezIO-G4 fits the Nuvo-9000, Nuvo-11000, Nuvo-11160GC, Nuvo-9160GC and Nuvo-9166GC series, and the compact POC-900.

Because the MezIO-G4 supplies no power to its ports, connected devices need their own supply, which suits switches, controllers and powered cameras. If you are planning a mix of networks, the MezIO-U4-50 is the alternative where USB 3.1 ports would serve better than extra Ethernet on the same MezIO interface.
