Nexcom Neu-X101-6C-DC Intel Celeron J3455 Compact Industrial Computer with 6x Serial Ports and Dual GbE

Parking pay stations, access control panels and coin-operated machines tend to collect serial devices: card readers, note acceptors, barrier controllers and RS485 meters. The Neu-X101-6C-DC is a Nexcom Compact Industrial Computer built for that mix, with six COM ports on the front panel and a 9 V to 24 V DC input in a palm-sized fanless case. The Neu-X101 uses the same processor with fewer COM ports and a mini-PCIe slot for Wi-Fi or LTE.

The Intel Celeron J3455 runs at up to 2.3 GHz with Intel HD Graphics 500. One DDR3L SO-DIMM socket takes up to 8 GB at 1600 MHz, and storage is an M.2 2242 Key M SSD. Windows 10 64-bit and Linux are supported on the Neu-X101-6C-DC.

The six COM ports are COM1 RS232/422/485, COM2 RS232 and COM3 to COM6 RS485, so an RS485 bus of meters or drives can be split across separate ports. The rear carries two GbE ports, two HDMI 1.4b outputs at 3840 x 2160 and 30 Hz, two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports, a power button and the two-pin 9 V to 24 V DC terminal. Inside are two USB 2.0 headers, speaker, mic-in and line-out connections and a connector for an optional TPM module on the Neu-X101-6C-DC.

This Compact Industrial Computer runs from -5 °C to 50 °C with 0.7 m/s airflow, and is rated to 50 G shock and 2 Grms vibration with flash storage. The aluminium and metal case measures 155 x 121 x 44 mm without its wall-mount bracket, and the unit carries CE, FCC Class A, LVD (EN 62368-1) and UKCA marking.
