Stereolabs ZED-X-WIDE (ZED-311110) GMSL2 IP67 Stereo Camera with Wide 2.2 mm Lenses, Global Shutter and Up to 20 m Depth

The ZED-X-WIDE is the wide-angle build of the Stereolabs ZED-X without a polarizer: 2.2 mm lenses see up to 120° diagonally, with depth from 0.3 m to 20 m from global-shutter sensors over GMSL2. It suits autonomous mobile robots that need close-in obstacle detection and navigation around people and racking.

  • Wide 2.2 mm Lenses: Twin 2.2 mm f/2.2 nine-element glass lenses cover up to 110° horizontally, 80° vertically and 120° diagonally for wide obstacle coverage.
  • 0.3 to 20 m Depth Range: Depth from 0.3 m to 20 m, ideal to 12 m, with accuracy within 0.8% at 2 m and body tracking to 8 m.
  • Global Shutter at 120 fps: Two 1/2.6″ 2.3MP global-shutter sensors give 1920 x 1200 at 60 fps or 960 x 600 at 120 fps without motion skew.
  • GMSL2 Up to 15 m: A lockable FAKRA Z GMSL2 link carries video and power over coax up to 15 m to a Jetson host.
  • IP67 and -20 to 60 °C: IP67-rated aluminium body operating from -20 °C to 60 °C, rated for 2g RMS vibration from 3 to 500 Hz.

ZED-X-WIDE Overview

An autonomous mobile robot weaving between racking, pallets and people needs to see what is beside it as well as ahead, and to see it sharply while turning. The Stereolabs ZED-X-WIDE is the wide-angle member of the ZED-X series, with 2.2 mm lenses and global-shutter sensors for obstacle detection, navigation and process automation on moving machines.

The 2.2 mm f/2.2 lenses cover up to 110° horizontally, 80° vertically and 120° diagonally, with optically corrected distortion. Behind them, two 1/2.6″ 2.3MP global-shutter sensors on a 12 cm baseline output 1920 x 1200 at 60 fps, 1080p at 60 fps or 960 x 600 at 120 fps, so fast-moving objects stay free of rolling-shutter skew. Depth runs from 0.3 m to 20 m, ideal to 12 m, with accuracy within 0.8% at 2 m and 4% at 12 m, and the ZED SDK tracks bodies to 8 m. A 200 Hz IMU supports positional tracking and SLAM.

The ZED-X-WIDE connects over GMSL2 through a lockable FAKRA Z connector, carrying video and power over coax up to 15 m with low latency and resistance to EMI. Typical draw is 1.46 W from a 5 to 20 V supply. Hosts are NVIDIA Jetson Orin and Xavier modules running Jetson Linux; on Jetson Orin, a ZED-LINK-DUO capture card or a ZED Box Mini takes the GMSL2 feed, and hardware sync aligns multiple cameras to within 100 µs. The ZED-X-NARROW trades width for 35 m depth, and the ZED-X-WIDE-POL adds a polarizer for outdoor fleets.

The aluminium body is IP67-rated and runs from -20 °C to 60 °C at up to 90% humidity at 40 °C, rated for 2g RMS vibration. A 1/4″-20 thread, 2x M3 holes underneath and 4x M4 holes at the back suit robot chassis, masts and the optional tiltable mount. We supply the ZED-X-WIDE tested on a Jetson Orin host with JetPack, the ZED SDK and the GMSL2 capture path configured, plus optional FAKRA cables from 0.3 m to 15 m.
