NVIDIA Holoscan applications often need a live HDMI or SDI feed, from a camera, a production system or an instrument with a video output, delivered straight into the AI pipeline. The HDMI2.0 / 12G-SDI to Holoscan Sensor Bridge from Yuan is built for that job with a single 4K source. It converts HDMI 2.0 or 12G-SDI video into Holoscan Sensor Bridge output over fibre.
The bridge has one HDMI 2.0 input and one 12G-SDI input. HDMI formats run from 3840 x 2160p at 60/50 and 30/25/24 fps through 1080p and 720p to PC resolutions from 1280 x 1024 down to 640 x 480, and SD at 480 and 576 lines. SDI supports 12G-SDI at 2160p60/50, 6G-SDI at 2160p30/25/24, 3G-SDI at 1080p60/50 and HD-SDI at 1080p30 and 720p. Output is one Holoscan Sensor Bridge channel through an SFP+ fibre cage, carrying the input format.
The HDMI2.0 / 12G-SDI to Holoscan Sensor Bridge is compact and fanless, plug and play, and runs from a 12V DC input. When two 4K feeds are needed, the Dual HDMI2.0 / 12G-SDI to Holoscan Sensor Bridge doubles the channels with two SFP+ cages. When the video is captured inside the host computer rather than over fibre, the SC710N1-L 12G-SDI+HDMI2.0 PCIe frame grabber takes the same pair of inputs.
In practice the bridge sits close to the video source, with fibre running back to the Holoscan system. We supply it configured and tested with the sources, fibre and processing system it will connect to, so the full video path is checked before it ships.
