Yuan SC542N2 HDV PCIe DVI Capture Card with 2 x DVI Inputs at 1080p60

Recording two computer outputs at once, such as an operator screen and a process display, usually means two capture cards and two slots. The SC542N2 HDV is Yuan’s 2-channel PCIe DVI capture card, putting both DVI-I inputs on one short PCIe x1 card so each source records on its own channel.

Each DVI-I input takes digital DVI-D or analogue DVI-A signals and captures at up to 1920 x 1200p and 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps, along with 1080i, 720p and PC timings down to 640 x 480. Capture and preview formats cover RGB24 and RGB32 at 4:4:4, YUY2 at 4:2:2, and YV12 and NV12 at 4:2:0, all at 8-bit. Two embedded audio channels are captured as stereo 16-bit at 32 to 48 kHz. On-board processing handles cropping and scaling, auto signal detection and deinterlacing. There is no built-in hardware encoder, so any encoding is left to the host software.

The card uses a PCIe x1 Gen2 link. Yuan provides a Windows and Linux SDK, supports DirectShow and V4L2 software, and lists vMix, OBS, Zoom, Skype, Teams, Discord, Slack, Cisco Webex and GoToMeeting as compatible applications. For a single channel with loop-through the SC542N1-L HDV is the closer fit, and the SC542N2-L Hybrid pairs one DVI-I input with an SDI input.

Yuan supports Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, Linux 2.6.14 or later in 32-bit and 64-bit form, Linux on ARM, and the NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX. The board measures 107.5 x 84.51 mm and carries 16 GPIO lines and a watchdog. Yuan lists multi-device and multi-instance support, for hosts that run more than one card or capture session.
