Yuan SC542N4 HDMI PCIe HDMI Video Capture Card with 4 x HDMI Inputs at 1080p60

Multi-camera streams and multi-screen recording systems quickly run out of slots when each source needs its own card. The SC542N4 HDMI is Yuan’s 4-channel PCIe HDMI video capture card, bringing four HDMI inputs onto one PCIe x4 card so each source records on its own channel.

Each channel captures up to 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps, and Yuan’s table also lists 1920 x 1200p, 1080i, 720p and PC timings down to 640 x 480. Capture and preview formats cover RGB24 and RGB32 at 4:4:4, YUY2 at 4:2:2, and YV12 and NV12 at 4:2:0, all at 8-bit. Four embedded HDMI audio channels are captured as stereo 16-bit at 32 to 48 kHz. On-board processing handles cropping and scaling, auto signal detection and deinterlacing. There is no built-in hardware encoder, so any encoding is left to the host software.

The card uses a PCIe x4 Gen2 link. Yuan provides a Windows and Linux SDK, supports DirectShow and V4L2 software, and lists vMix, OBS, Zoom, Skype, Teams, Discord, Slack, Cisco Webex and GoToMeeting as compatible applications. The SC542N8 HDMI doubles up to eight HDMI channels, and the SC542N2-L HDMI captures two HDMI sources with loop-through on PCIe x1.

Operating system support covers Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, Linux from kernel 2.6.14 in 32-bit and 64-bit builds, Linux on ARM, and NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX modules. The board measures 167.65 x 93.05 mm and includes a watchdog. Yuan lists multi-device and multi-instance support, for hosts that run more than one card or capture session.
