M.2SC550N1 M2 HDV Overview
A compact PC that records one video source may meet HDMI on one job and DVI or component video on the next, with only an M.2 socket free. The SC550N1 M2 HDV is Yuan’s M.2 HDMI and DVI video capture card for that host, taking one HDMI, DVI-I or YPbPr input on a 22 x 60 mm card.
HDMI and DVI signals at 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps are captured at full rate, and 1920 x 1200p input is captured at up to 30/25 fps, with 1080i, 720p and PC timings down to 640 x 480 also listed. YPbPr runs up to 1080p60/50. Capture and preview formats cover RGB24 and RGB32 at 4:4:4, YUY2 at 4:2:2, and YV12 and NV12 at 4:2:0, all at 8-bit. Audio comes from HDMI embedded sound or a pair of analogue inputs on an on-board wafer connector, captured as stereo 16-bit at 32 to 48 kHz. On-board processing handles cropping and scaling, auto signal detection and deinterlacing. There is no built-in hardware encoder, so any encoding is left to the host software.
The card connects over a PCIe x1 link in an M.2 B/M key socket. Software support runs through Yuan’s Windows and Linux SDK and standard DirectShow and V4L2 drivers, and Yuan names vMix, OBS, Zoom, Skype, Teams, Discord, Slack, Cisco Webex and GoToMeeting as compatible. The SC550N1 M2 HDMI (B/M) is the shorter 22 x 42 mm card for HDMI only, and the SC540N1 MC HDV adds a VGA input on Mini PCIe.
Yuan supports Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, Linux 2.6.14 or later in 32-bit and 64-bit form, Linux on ARM, and the NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX. The board measures 22 x 60 mm. Yuan lists multi-device and multi-instance support, for hosts that run more than one card or capture session.
