DFI ADP253-BCI-80I545UE 10-Core Intel Core i5-1245UE 4″ x86 SBC with 9 to 36 V DC Input and Triple LAN

Signage and information screens are often installed in places that are awkward to reach: above a station concourse, inside a kiosk or behind a wall panel. When one hangs, the cost is the visit, not the repair. The ADP253-BCI-80I545UE is the Core i5 standard-temperature build in the DFI ADP253 series of 4″ x86 SBCs, combining 10 cores with Intel AMT for remote recovery.

Its Intel Core i5-1245UE (12th Gen Alder Lake) runs 10 cores and 12 threads at 1.5 to 4.4 GHz within 15 W. Memory is 8 GB of DDR4 soldered on the board plus one DDR4-3200 SO-DIMM slot taking up to 32 GB, enough for a player, a content cache and a monitoring agent. Intel Iris Xe graphics drive HDMI at up to 4096 x 2160, VGA and two USB-C ports with DisplayPort Alt Mode, so one board can feed four screens, and Intel AMT allows power cycling and console access over the network when the operating system is not responding.

One 2.5GbE port and two GbE ports on Intel I226 give a content network, a management network and a spare. Six COM ports (two RS-232/422/485 and four RS-232) and 8-bit DIO shared with COM3 connect sensors, ticket printers or relays. Two USB 3.2 Type-A ports, two USB 2.0 headers and a Realtek ALC888S audio codec cover peripherals and announcements, and the M.2 B-key with SIM takes a 4G or 5G module where there is no wired uplink.

The ADP253-BCI-80I545UE runs from 9 to 36 V DC on a locking barrel jack or 4-pin connector and operates fanless from -5 to 65 °C. It carries CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance and a discrete TPM 2.0. For outdoor kiosks, ADP253-ETI-80I545UE keeps this processor with a -30 to 80 °C rating, and ADP253-BCI-80I765UE adds higher clocks with the Core i7-1265UE.
