DFI ADP253-ETI-80I315UE Intel Core i3-1215UE 4″ Embedded Board with 9 to 36 V DC Input and Wide Temperature

Cold stores, unheated warehouses and plant rooms on remote sites put control computers in air that can fall well below freezing, where a standard board may not start reliably. The software is often modest: a warehouse terminal, a refrigeration controller interface or a conveyor HMI. The ADP253-ETI-80I315UE is the Core i3 wide temperature build in the DFI ADP253 series of 4″ embedded boards, rated from -30 to 80 °C.

Its Intel Core i3-1215UE (12th Gen Alder Lake) runs six cores and eight threads at 1.2 to 4.4 GHz within 15 W, enough for an HMI runtime, a local database and a monitoring agent. Memory is 8 GB of DDR4 soldered on the board plus one DDR4-3200 SO-DIMM slot taking up to 32 GB. Intel UHD graphics drive HDMI at up to 4096 x 2160, VGA at up to 1920 x 1200 and two USB-C ports with DisplayPort Alt Mode, for up to four screens.

Six COM ports (two RS-232/422/485 and four RS-232) connect refrigeration controllers, scales and printers, and 8-bit DIO shared with COM3 reads door and alarm contacts. One 2.5GbE port and two GbE ports on Intel I226 separate the device network from the site network and an uplink. The M.2 M-key and SATA 3.0 port take storage, the M.2 E-key takes Wi-Fi for handheld terminals, and the M.2 B-key with SIM takes a 4G or 5G module. Two USB 3.2 Type-A ports and two USB 2.0 headers cover peripherals.

The ADP253-ETI-80I315UE runs from 9 to 36 V DC on a locking barrel jack or 4-pin connector and operates fanless from -30 to 80 °C. It carries CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance, a discrete TPM 2.0 and a watchdog timer. For Iris Xe graphics and Intel AMT at the same temperature grade, choose ADP253-ETI-80I545UE; for the lowest cost, ADP253-ETI-80CR05E uses the five-core Celeron 7305E.
