DFI ADP253-ETI-80I765UE 10-Core Intel Core i7-1265UE 4″ x86 SBC with 9 to 36 V DC Input and Wide Temperature

A roadside or trackside cabinet sees frost in winter and sun-loaded heat in summer, and the computer inside may be running video analytics, a traffic controller interface and a cellular link together. A site visit to reset it can mean a lane closure or a possession. The ADP253-ETI-80I765UE is the Core i7 wide temperature build in the DFI ADP253 series of 4″ x86 SBCs, rated from -30 to 80 °C.

Its Intel Core i7-1265UE (12th Gen Alder Lake) runs 10 cores and 12 threads at 1.7 to 4.7 GHz within 15 W, and DFI quotes around 24 W typical board power with this processor. Memory is 8 GB of DDR4 soldered on the board plus one DDR4-3200 SO-DIMM slot taking up to 32 GB. Intel Iris Xe graphics drive HDMI, VGA and two USB-C ports with DisplayPort Alt Mode for four displays, and Intel AMT allows remote power cycling and recovery over the network.

One 2.5GbE port and two GbE ports on Intel I226 separate cameras, the controller network and the uplink. Six COM ports (two RS-232/422/485 and four RS-232) and 8-bit DIO shared with COM3 reach signal controllers, sensors and relays. The M.2 B-key with SIM takes a 4G or 5G module, the M.2 E-key takes Wi-Fi, and the M.2 M-key and SATA 3.0 port take an SSD for local recording. Two USB 3.2 Type-A ports and two USB 2.0 headers complete the I/O.

The ADP253-ETI-80I765UE runs from 9 to 36 V DC on a locking barrel jack or 4-pin connector and operates fanless from -30 to 80 °C. It carries CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance and a discrete TPM 2.0. For an indoor cabinet, ADP253-BCI-80I765UE is the same processor at -5 to 65 °C, and ADP253-ETI-80I545UE keeps 10 cores and the wide temperature rating at lower clocks.
