DFI ECX700-ADP2040A-i5 Intel Core i5-1245UE IP67 Waterproof Computer with IP69K, M12 LAN and CAN Bus

Washdown lines, quarries and outdoor plant need a computer that can be hosed down and still run, with sealed connectors rather than a cabinet around it. The ECX700-ADP2040A-i5 is the Core i5 build of the DFI ECX700-ADP series, an IP67 waterproof computer with IP69K protection, M12 networking and CAN bus, built on DFI’s ADP253 series board.

The Intel Core i5-1245UE is a 12th Gen Alder Lake processor with ten cores and twelve threads at 1.5 GHz, up to 4.4 GHz, at 15 W, with Intel Iris Xe graphics. Memory is 8 GB of DDR4 on board plus one SO-DIMM slot taking up to 32 GB, in dual channel at 3200 MHz, and storage is a 256 GB M.2 SSD. The ECX700-ADP2040A-i5 supports Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 and Linux, which suits machine HMI, data collection and edge analytics close to the process.

Networking is two GbE ports from Intel i225IT controllers on sealed M12 connectors. Four USB 3.2 ports use sealed IP67 receptacles, two on the bottom panel and two on the side next to the HDMI output (up to 3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz) and the SIM slot. Two RS-232 and two CAN bus ports share one sealed 23-pin circular connector, with a breakout cable in the box. An M.2 3042/3052 B key slot takes an optional LTE or 5G module, an M.2 2230 E key slot takes optional Wi-Fi, and the top carries six antenna holes, so the ECX700-ADP2040A-i5 can mount without a separate cabinet.

Power is 9 to 36 V DC on an M12 D-coded connector. The ECX700-ADP2040A-i5 runs fanless from -20 °C to 70 °C in a housing rated IP67 and IP69K, with operating shock tested at 15 G half-sine and vibration to IEC 60068-2-64, and DFI lists CE, FCC Class A, UKCA and RoHS compliance.
