DFI EHL173-CT-6413 Mini-ITX Motherboard with Intel Celeron J6413, Wide-Range DC Input and Dual 2.5GbE

A control cabinet that drives several screens and serial devices needs a standard Mini-ITX footprint with plenty of onboard I/O. The EHL173-CT-6413 is the quad-core Celeron J6413 build with VGA and HDMI in the DFI EHL173 series: a Mini-ITX motherboard, also called a Mini-ITX SBC, measuring 170 x 170 mm.

It runs a quad-core Intel Celeron J6413 at 1.8 GHz with bursts to 3.0 GHz, 1.5 MB cache and a 10 W TDP, which suits control, HMI and edge data software. Two 260-pin DDR4 SO-DIMM sockets take up to 32 GB in dual channel at up to 3200 MHz. Intel UHD Graphics decodes H.264, H.265 and VP9 in hardware, and VGA and HDMI 2.0 on the rear and an internal eDP/LVDS connector drive three independent displays, with HDMI up to 4096 x 2160 at 24 Hz, eDP up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz and VGA up to 2560 x 1600.

The rear edge carries two 2.5GbE ports on Intel I225LM controllers, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports and a line-out. Internal headers add four USB 2.0 ports, two RS-232/422/485 and four RS-232 ports, 8-bit digital I/O, SMBus and audio headers. Expansion covers a PCIe x4 slot (x1 signal by default), an M.2 B key with a Nano SIM socket, an M.2 2230 E key and two SATA 3.0 ports, one shared with the M.2 B key. The EHL173-CT-6413E is the Atom x6413E build rated -40 to 85 °C, and the EHL171-CT-6413 is the Celeron J6413 build on a 12 V DC input.

Power is a 9 to 36 V DC wide-range input on a 4-pin vertical connector by default. The EHL173-CT-6413 is fanless with the 32 mm heatsink in the box. DFI lists the Celeron J6413 build for -5 to 65 °C operation, with storage from -40 to 85 °C, so confirm the temperature grade when ordering. fTPM, an optional discrete TPM and a watchdog timer are built in. The board boots in UEFI mode only and supports Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 64-bit and Linux. It carries CE, FCC and UKCA marks.
