DFI HPT193-CB-8840U AMD Ryzen 7 8840U (Hawk Point) Industrial Mini-ITX Motherboard with Dual 2.5GbE and Quad Display

A gaming machine or amusement cabinet often drives a main game screen, a topper and a player information display from one board, inside a cabinet with limited ventilation. The HPT193-CB-8840U is the eight-core, 28 W build in the DFI HPT193 series of industrial Mini-ITX motherboards, and it keeps the larger Radeon 780M GPU at a lower thermal load.

The AMD Ryzen 7 8840U (Hawk Point) has eight cores and 16 threads at 3.3 GHz base and up to 5.1 GHz boost. Its 28 W TDP is configurable from 15 to 30 W, so the board can be matched to the cooling in the cabinet. Radeon 780M graphics with RDNA3 cores handle 3D game content and video, and two DDR5 SO-DIMM sockets take up to 96 GB at 4800 MHz, with ECC support where the operator wants it.

Four DP++ outputs drive four screens at up to 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz. Two ccTalk headers connect coin and note acceptors, two TTL headers can take a ticket printer or card reader, and RS-232 and RS-232/422/485 on DB9 serve other devices, with 8-bit DIO for buttons and lamps. DFI’s gaming I/O headers add UART, USB, audio and a PCIe x1 link. Two Intel I226 2.5GbE ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 and two USB 2.0 rear ports and five internal USB 2.0 ports complete the I/O.

A PCIe x16 slot with eight Gen4 lanes and an M.2 2280 socket for PCIe Gen4 x4 or SATA storage, plus two SATA ports, leave room for game storage and add-in cards.
