DFI RNO171-CB-V2748 AMD Ryzen Embedded V2748 Mini-ITX Embedded Motherboard with Dual GbE and Quad Display

Multi-camera inspection, edge servers running several containers and video analytics gateways all scale with core count. The RNO171-CB-V2748 is the eight-core 45 W build in the RNO171 series, putting the most compute in the range onto a 170 x 170 mm Mini-ITX board with up to 64 GB of memory.

Its AMD Ryzen Embedded V2748 runs eight cores and 16 threads at 2.9 GHz, boosting to 4.25 GHz, with seven Radeon Vega compute units in a 45 W TDP. Two DDR4 3200 SO-DIMM slots take up to 64 GB, enough for several virtual machines or large image buffers. Four DP++ outputs drive independent displays at up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz.

A PCIe x16 Gen3 slot at x8 signal takes a frame grabber, GPU or multi-port network card, and the M.2 M-key 2280 socket runs a PCIe x4 Gen3 NVMe or SATA SSD, with two SATA 3.0 ports for bulk storage. Rear I/O covers two GbE ports on Realtek RTL8119 controllers, two USB 3.1 Gen 1 and two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, an RS-232/422/485 and an RS-232 DB-9 port and audio, and internal headers add four RS-232 ports and four USB 2.0.

Power is 12 V DC on a 4-pin connector or DC barrel jack. The RNO171-CB-V2748 runs from -5 to 65 °C with an active cooler, a watchdog timer and CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance. DFI lists Windows 10 and Linux support, and a watchdog timer programmable from 1 to 255 seconds resets the board if a service hangs.
