DFI RPP173-IB-U300E Intel Processor U300E Mini-ITX Embedded Motherboard with 9 to 36 V DC Input and Triple 2.5GbE

Vending machines, ticket machines and self-service terminals usually carry a 24 V supply for their motors, printers and payment hardware, and the computer inside has to run from it too. The RPP173-IB-U300E is the Intel Processor U300E build in the DFI RPP173 series of Mini-ITX motherboards, with a 9 to 36 V DC input that takes that supply directly.

The Intel Processor U300E (13th Gen Raptor Lake) has five cores at up to 4.3 GHz and a TDP of up to 28 W, enough for a kiosk front end, a payment client and remote management. Two DDR5 5200 MHz SO-DIMMs take up to 64 GB in dual channel. Intel UHD Graphics drives two DP++ outputs at up to 4096 x 2304 and 60 Hz and a third display over USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode, and DFI’s optional M2A module adds an LVDS or eDP panel.

Three 2.5GbE ports on Intel I226V and I226LM controllers keep the payment network apart from content updates and service access. Four COM ports (two RS-232/422/485, two RS-232), 8-bit DIO, four rear USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports and four internal USB 2.0 headers connect coin mechanisms, card readers, printers and door sensors. The M.2 B-key takes a cellular module with its SIM slot for sites without wired networking, and NVMe at PCIe Gen4 x4, Wi-Fi, two SATA ports and a PCIe x4 Gen4 slot complete the expansion.

The RPP173-IB-U300E operates from -5 to 65 °C with an active cooler and carries CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance. For more cores in the same conditions, choose RPP173-IB-1315UE; for an unheated forecourt or station shelter, RPP173-IE-1345UE is the ten-core wide temperature option at -20 to 70 °C.
