DFI RPP171 Intel 13th Gen Core Raptor Lake Mini-ITX Embedded Motherboards with Triple 2.5GbE and 12 V DC Input

Raptor Lake U-series processors bring up to ten cores and Iris Xe graphics into the power budget of a Mini-ITX board, which matters when an OEM wants more compute inside an enclosure it has already qualified. The DFI RPP171 series puts 13th Gen Intel Core processors and the Intel Processor U300E on a 170 x 170 mm Mini-ITX board with triple 2.5GbE, DDR5 and a 12 V DC input, so it fits standard Mini-ITX cabinets, panel mounts and machine enclosures.

Every RPP171 board takes two DDR5 5200 MHz SO-DIMMs in dual channel, up to 64 GB, which leaves room for vision models, virtual machines or large data buffers. The processors run at up to 28 W TDP. The Core i7 and i5 builds use Intel Iris Xe Graphics, and the i3 and U300E builds use Intel UHD Graphics. Two DP++ outputs drive up to 4096 x 2304 at 60 Hz, a rear USB-C port adds a third display through DisplayPort Alt Mode, and an M.2 A-key takes DFI’s optional M2A module for a fourth eDP, LVDS, VGA, HDMI or DP panel.

The range has four builds. RPP171-IE-1365UE carries the ten-core Core i7-1365UE at up to 4.9 GHz for multi-camera vision and analytics, and RPP171-IE-1345UE uses the ten-core Core i5-1345UE at up to 4.6 GHz for HMIs, gateways and control work. Both run from -20 to 70 °C. RPP171-IB-1315UE steps down to the six-core Core i3-1315UE, and RPP171-IB-U300E uses the five-core Intel Processor U300E for kiosks, signage and simpler control. These two run from -5 to 65 °C.

Across the series, three 2.5GbE ports on Intel I226V and I226LM controllers keep plant, camera and uplink networks apart. Four rear USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports and four internal USB 2.0 headers sit alongside four COM ports (two RS-232/422/485 and two RS-232) and 8-bit DIO on internal headers. Storage and expansion come from an M.2 M-key running NVMe at PCIe Gen4 x4, an M.2 B-key with a SIM slot for cellular, an M.2 E-key (2230) for Wi-Fi, two SATA 3.0 ports and a PCIe x4 Gen4 slot for a capture, I/O or network card.

Power is 12 V DC on a barrel jack or a 4-pin connector. The boards ship with an active cooler as standard, with a fanless heatsink available on request for 15 W builds, and carry CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance, a discrete TPM, a watchdog programmable from 1 to 255 seconds and Realtek ALC888S audio. DFI lists support for Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSB, Windows 11 and Linux. Where the supply is a 24 V rail or a vehicle battery, the RPP173 series keeps this layout with a 9 to 36 V DC input.
