DFI TGU171-IE-1145GRE Quad-Core Intel Core i5-1145GRE Mini-ITX Embedded Motherboard with Triple LAN and -20 to 70 °C

A control desk in a water treatment works or a transport depot often shows plant overviews on several screens while logging alarms and serving a web interface. The TGU171-IE-1145GRE is the Core i5 build in the DFI TGU171 series of embedded Mini-ITX motherboards, balancing four cores and Iris Xe graphics against a lower cost than the Core i7 build.

The Intel Core i5-1145GRE (11th Gen, Tiger Lake) has four cores at 1.5 GHz, bursting to 4.1 GHz, with 8 MB cache, a 15 to 28 W TDP and Intel vPro. Two DDR4 3200 MHz SO-DIMMs take up to 64 GB with in-band ECC support. Intel Iris Xe Graphics runs HDMI, DP++ and USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode at up to 3840 x 2160, plus internal eDP and dual-channel LVDS: five outputs, four active at once.

Networking is two GbE ports on Intel I211AT or I210IT controllers and one 2.5GbE port on an Intel I225LM or I225IT controller, enough to keep SCADA, CCTV and corporate links apart. Four rear USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports and four internal USB 2.0 headers take keyboards, touch controllers and storage, and four COM ports (two RS-232/422/485, two RS-232 with power) with 8-bit DIO reach serial devices and alarm contacts. Three M.2 slots take NVMe, cellular and CNVi Wi-Fi, and a PCIe x4 Gen3 slot and two SATA ports with RAID 0/1 add a card or drives.

The TGU171-IE-1145GRE runs from 12 V DC on a barrel jack or 4-pin connector and operates from -20 to 70 °C with its active cooler, with CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance and a 1 to 255 second watchdog.
