DFI TGU173-IE-1185GRE Intel Core i7-1185GRE Mini-ITX Embedded Motherboard with 9 to 36 V DC Input and Wide Temperature

A vision system mounted on a 24 V machine, such as a palletiser or a sorting line, needs Core i7 performance but draws its power from the same rail as the drives and sensors. The TGU173-IE-1185GRE is the Core i7 build in the DFI TGU173 series of embedded Mini-ITX motherboards, with a 9 to 36 V DC input and a wide temperature range.

The Intel Core i7-1185GRE (11th Gen, Tiger Lake) has four cores at 1.8 GHz, bursting to 4.4 GHz, with 12 MB cache, a 15 to 28 W TDP and Intel vPro for out-of-band management. Two DDR4 3200 MHz SO-DIMMs take up to 64 GB with in-band ECC support. Intel Iris Xe Graphics runs HDMI, DP++ and USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode at up to 3840 x 2160, plus internal eDP and LVDS, four displays at once, with hardware decode for H.265, VP9 and AV1.

Networking is two GbE ports on Intel I211AT or I210IT controllers and one 2.5GbE port on an Intel I225LM or I225IT controller, so cameras, the PLC network and the plant uplink each get a port. Four rear USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports, four internal USB 2.0 headers, four COM ports and 8-bit DIO cover field devices. An M.2 M-key runs NVMe at PCIe Gen4 x4 for image storage, the B-key takes a cellular module with its Nano-SIM socket, the E-key takes CNVi Wi-Fi, and a PCIe x4 Gen3 slot and two SATA ports with RAID 0/1 add a capture card or mirrored drives.

The TGU173-IE-1185GRE takes 9 to 36 V DC on a barrel jack or 4-pin connector and operates from -20 to 70 °C with its active cooler, with CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance. DFI quotes an MTBF of 397,863 hours at 25 °C. The TGU173-IE-1145GRE keeps four cores and the same range at up to 4.1 GHz, while TGU173-IB-1115G4E covers indoor duties from -5 to 65 °C.
