Diamond Systems JB-JAX-ONA8 NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano 8GB Fanless DIN Rail PC with 1TB NVMe SSD, RS-232/485 and Wide Temperature

Monitoring and light vision tasks on a production line rarely need a large module, but they still benefit from a fanless box that fits the cabinet DIN rail. The JB-JAX-ONA8 is the Orin Nano 8GB model in the Diamond Systems JETBOX-JACKSON series, a fanless DIN rail PC built on Diamond’s Jackson carrier board in a steel and aluminium enclosure.

NVIDIA rates the Jetson Orin Nano 8GB module at up to 40 TOPS, and Diamond’s Linux OS based on NVIDIA JetPack supports Super Mode, quoted at 67 TOPS in the manual. That suits presence detection, counting and simple inspection on one or two cameras. The JB-JAX-ONA8 ships as Diamond’s JB-JAX-ONA8-1T-01 with a 1TB NVMe SSD holding the operating system, and 2TB is available by special order.

With the Orin Nano module the front panel carries one Gigabit Ethernet port on RJ-45, and there is no CAN port. It keeps two USB 3.2 ports with USB 2.0 fallback, one HDMI output, one RS-232 port on DB9, one RS-232/485 port set by jumper and 16 GPIO on a DB25 connector with 3.3 or 5 V levels. Internally there is a PCIe/USB minicard socket with a nano SIM socket and an M.2 E-key 2230 socket, and Diamond can fit Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or modem modules at the factory. Front-panel reset and recovery buttons are recessed.

Power is 8-20 V DC through a pluggable screw terminal block, with a 5 V DC input as an option on the Orin Nano model. The JB-JAX-ONA8 runs fanless from -25 to +80 °C, mounts on a DIN rail or shelf and is RoHS compliant. The JB-JAX-ONX8 and JB-JAX-ONX16 add a second Gigabit port and CAN with the Orin NX. We supply the JB-JAX-ONA8 configured, with the JetPack image loaded and the unit tested before it ships.
