ZIG-BB02 Overview
Many small Jetson builds take their data from cameras and the network, with no need for analog inputs on the carrier. The ZIG-BB02 is the Diamond Systems ZIGGY mini carrier board for the NVIDIA Jetson TX2 and TX2i without the data acquisition circuit, supplied without a module, on a board the same footprint as the module.
The carrier exposes the Jetson I/O that most vision and edge AI designs use: one 4-lane MIPI CSI-2 camera input, one Gigabit Ethernet port on RJ-45 and one HDMI output. The Jetson TX2 suits development and evaluation, and the TX2i is the module NVIDIA rates for industrial temperatures. The ZIG-BB01 is the same carrier with six analog inputs, two analog outputs and 12 digital I/O lines for sensors and actuators.
For peripherals, the ZIG-BB02 has one USB 3.0 and one USB 2.0 Type-A port, a micro USB port with OTG for development and recovery, and two RS-232 serial ports for instruments, GPS receivers or controllers. Diamond Systems supplies a Linux BSP for ZIGGY with support for the on-board I/O. Leaving out the DAQ keeps the board the same size and connector layout as the ZIG-BB01, so a design can move between the two without changes to the enclosure.
Diamond Systems rates the ZIGGY board from -40 to +85 °C. The Jetson TX2 is rated from -25 to +80 °C and the TX2i from -40 to +85 °C, so the module choice sets the range of the finished build. The datasheet gives a 9-18 V DC input with the TX2 and 5.5-18 V DC with the TX2i, and Diamond’s manual states the ZIG-BB02 is designed to meet MIL-STD-202G shock and vibration conditions.
