Diamond Systems ZIGGYBOX : ZIGBOX-20-HD NVIDIA Jetson TX2 8GB Fanless Rugged Mini PC with Data Acquisition and DIN Mount

The ZIGBOX-20-HD is the Jetson TX2 model in the Diamond Systems ZIGGYBOX series, adding Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to a miniature fanless enclosure with built-in data acquisition, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI and two RS-232 ports. ZIGBOX-20-HD Overview

Lab rigs and small test stations often need a model, a few analog channels and a wireless link, and end up with three separate boxes on the bench. The Diamond Systems ZIGBOX-20-HD is a rugged mini PC in the ZIGGYBOX series that houses the NVIDIA Jetson TX2 and Diamond’s Ziggy carrier board in a miniature enclosure with an integrated heat sink, no fan and a DIN bracket.

The Jetson TX2 pairs an Arm CPU complex with an NVIDIA Pascal GPU, 8 GB of memory and 32 GB of flash, and the ZIGBOX-20-HD ships with a built-in Linux OS. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity is available on the TX2 model, so the unit can report results or receive updates without a cable.

The I/O on the ZIGBOX-20-HD covers one Gigabit Ethernet port on RJ-45, one USB 3.0 and one USB 2.0 Type A port, a micro USB OTG port, HDMI and two RS-232 ports. The built-in data acquisition circuit adds six 12-bit analog inputs at up to 1 Msps over 0-3.3 V, two 12-bit analog outputs and twelve 3.3 V digital I/O lines, supported by Diamond’s driver library and an interactive control program.

Power on the ZIGBOX-20-HD is 9-15 V DC, and Diamond rates the system from -40 to +85 °C. The heat sink cools the module without forced air, so there is no fan to clog or fail in a dusty cabinet, and the miniature size suits instruments and test fixtures.
