What Replaced the NVIDIA Jetson Xavier?

The NVIDIA Jetson Orin family replaced the Xavier generation. The Xavier NX maps to the Orin NX, and the AGX Xavier to the AGX Orin, with a large jump in AI performance per watt and the same software stack. With the Xavier modules now at end-of-life, Orin is the migration path.

The Short Answer

The Jetson Orin family is the successor to Xavier. The natural migrations are Xavier NX to Orin NX, and AGX Xavier to AGX Orin: the same class of module, a generation newer, with a large increase in AI performance per watt. With the Xavier modules now reaching end-of-life, Orin is where current and new designs sit.

Why Migrate Now

The Xavier and TX2 modules use LPDDR4 memory and have had their end-of-life accelerated by the memory shortage, with last-time-buy closing on 1 July 2026. Migrating to Orin is therefore both an upgrade and a supply decision. The software stack carries across, so the application generally moves with the module.
