MILBOX-THR4000 Overview
Video analytics and autonomy on a military vehicle, vessel or aircraft call for compute that survives the installation as well as the workload, with sealed connectors, a wide-range supply and enough I/O to reach every sensor. The MILBOX-THR4000 is a rugged mission computer built by Forecr for that brief, combining the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Thor T4000 module with the shared enclosure and I/O of the MILBOX-THR series.
The Jetson AGX Thor T4000 is paired with 64GB of 256-bit LPDDR5X memory, giving the MILBOX-THR4000 room for perception models, sensor fusion and several video pipelines at once, processed locally rather than in the cloud. The software stack is Ubuntu Linux 24.04 with JetPack 7.x, and TPM 2.0, a 6-axis IMU and a temperature sensor are built in for hardware security, motion sensing and thermal monitoring.
Four 10G Ethernet ports over copper carry high-bandwidth sensor and video traffic. Video connects through 2x HDMI 2.0 outputs plus 2x 3G-SDI outputs and 2x 3G-SDI inputs in the default build, and a camera expansion slot can instead feed up to 8x GMSL2 or 6x analog video inputs across 12 configurable coax positions on three rear multi-coax connectors. Field I/O covers 4x isolated CAN FD, 4x isolated RS-232/422/485, 8x isolated 3.3V digital I/O and 3x USB 3.1. Three M.2 Key-M 2280 slots run at PCIe Gen5 x4, x2 and x1 for NVMe storage or AI accelerators, the x4 slot hosting the SDI inputs by default. Input power is 11-60 VDC.
The sealed enclosure is designed to meet MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-461G, MIL-STD-704F, MIL-STD-1275E, DO-160G and IP67, and the mission computer operates from -25°C to +70°C at 5% to 95% non-condensing humidity, with no wireless interfaces. Forecr lists defence, aerospace, marine and transportation as target sectors. For the largest models, the MILBOX-THR5000 moves to the Jetson AGX Thor T5000 with 128GB and up to 2070 TFLOPS in the same build as the MILBOX-THR4000.

Official Forecr UK Distributor
Things Embedded is an official Forecr UK distributor, covering Forecr's Jetson range from carrier boards to sealed rugged computers for UK programmes. Industrial designs built around the same Thor modules can start from the DSBOARD-THRMAX carrier board and add their own enclosure. On Jetson AGX Orin, the MILBOX-AGX-SDI focuses on SDI video capture for tactical systems, the MILBOX-AGX offers a sealed AGX Orin military computer with Gigabit Ethernet, and the RAIBOX-AGX targets EN 50155 railway installations rather than military vehicles.
Across our catalogue the MILBOX-THR4000 belongs with our rugged mission computers for defence and aerospace programmes, and with our rugged Jetson computers built for vibration, shock and wide temperature swings. It is also part of our Jetson Thor systems range, where it offers Thor compute with 64GB of memory in the same sealed IP67 build as the T5000 model, with identical 10G Ethernet, 3G-SDI and isolated CAN FD interfaces for programmes that want one enclosure design across different compute requirements.
