MILBOX-THR5000 Overview
Programmes that run large AI models at the tactical edge need the compute where the sensors are: inside a vehicle, on an aircraft or below deck on a vessel, sealed against dust and water and fed from an onboard supply. The MILBOX-THR5000 is a rugged mission computer for that role, built by Forecr around the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Thor T5000 module as part of the MILBOX-THR series.
The Jetson AGX Thor T5000 brings 128GB of 256-bit LPDDR5X memory and up to 2070 TFLOPS of AI performance, so the MILBOX-THR5000 can hold large perception models, sensor fusion and multi-stream video analytics in memory together without relying on cloud connectivity. It runs Ubuntu Linux 24.04 with JetPack 7.x, and TPM 2.0, a 6-axis IMU and a temperature sensor are built in for hardware security, motion sensing and thermal monitoring.
Networking is 4x 10G Ethernet over copper. Video connects through 2x HDMI 2.0 outputs plus 2x 3G-SDI outputs and 2x 3G-SDI inputs in the default build, and a camera expansion slot can instead feed up to 8x GMSL2 or 6x analog video inputs across 12 configurable coax positions on three rear multi-coax connectors. Field interfaces are 4x isolated CAN FD, 4x isolated RS-232/422/485, 8x isolated 3.3V digital I/O and 3x USB 3.1. Three M.2 Key-M 2280 slots at PCIe Gen5 x4, x2 and x1 take NVMe SSDs or AI accelerators, with the x4 slot carrying the SDI inputs by default. Power comes from an 11-60 VDC input.
The enclosure is designed to meet MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-461G, MIL-STD-704F, MIL-STD-1275E and DO-160G with IP67 sealing, and the MILBOX-THR5000 operates from -25°C to +70°C at 5% to 95% non-condensing humidity. Forecr targets defence, aerospace, marine and transportation installations, and the mission computer carries no wireless interfaces. Where 64GB of memory is enough, the MILBOX-THR4000 offers the same I/O and environmental design on the Jetson AGX Thor T4000.

Official Forecr UK Distributor
Things Embedded is an official Forecr UK distributor, supplying Forecr's rugged and industrial NVIDIA Jetson computers and carrier boards across the UK. Teams designing their own enclosure around the same Thor module can use the MILBOARD-THR, Forecr's ruggedised AGX Thor carrier board for a custom housing. The MILBOX-AGXMAX moves to Jetson AGX Orin with a 10G Ethernet uplink for lighter AI loads, and the MILBOX-ORNX brings Orin NX and Orin Nano into a compact rugged enclosure for smaller vehicles and payloads.
Within our catalogue the MILBOX-THR5000 sits among our mission computers and our NVIDIA Jetson Thor computers, where the T5000 module carries the most memory and the highest AI performance on offer. Its sealed enclosure also places it with our IP67 computers for exposed deck, vehicle and airframe installations where dust and water are the main threats, and its 11-60 VDC input suits vehicle and vessel supplies that vary widely in voltage.
