Neousys Nuvo-2600 Intel Atom x6425E Fanless Box PCs with PCIe Cassette

Low-power Atom computers are usually sealed boxes with no room for an add-in card, so a frame grabber, fieldbus interface or extra DIO card means stepping up to a larger, hotter system. Neousys took a different route with the NUVO-2600: a fanless box PC on the 12 W Intel Elkhart Lake Atom x6425E that still carries its patented Cassette, a thermally separated compartment for one PCIe card.

Every NUVO-2600 runs the quad-core Atom x6425E at 2.0 GHz base and 3.0 GHz burst, with one DDR4-3200 SODIMM up to 32 GB, Intel UHD Graphics and firmware TPM 2.0; Neousys quotes a 320% CPU performance improvement over its earlier NUVO-2500E. The Cassette provides a PCIe x4 slot wired at PCIe 3.0 x2, and an optional 25 mm fan kit is available for hotter cards. Storage pairs an M.2 2280 SATA socket for the system drive with a front-accessible tray for a 2.5-inch SSD or hard drive up to 15 mm high, so data can be swapped from the front panel. Two mini PCIe sockets and an M.2 B key socket with dual micro SIM slots take Wi-Fi, 4G or 5G modules.

Four models cover the combinations of PoE and ignition control. The NUVO-2600E is the base build with four GbE ports. The NUVO-2600E-PoE adds 802.3at PoE+ on all four ports, up to 25.5 W each from a 100 W budget. The NUVO-2600E-IGN adds ignition power control for vehicles, and the NUVO-2600E-PoE-IGN combines PoE+ with ignition control for vehicle-mounted cameras.

All four NUVO-2600 models share four Intel I210 GbE ports with screw-lock RJ45 connectors, an isolated RS-485 port with 15 kV ESD protection, three further RS-232 ports or one RS-422/485, 4-channel isolated DI and DO, one screw-lock USB 3.1 Gen1 port, two USB 2.0 ports and VGA plus DVI through a DVI-I connector. Power is 8 to 35 V DC on a terminal block with a separate remote control and LED output. These fanless box PCs run from -25 °C to 70 °C in a 205 x 155 x 86 mm chassis weighing 2.3 kg, with MIL-STD-810G vibration and shock, which suits machine-side cabinets, vision cells and vehicles alike.
